Itinerary

DAY1 Chandigarh / Delhi to Shimla (7200 feet / 3-4 – 8-10 hours)

Upon arrival at Delhi or Chandigarh Railway Station or Airport, you will be greeted and assisted before being driven to Shimla, a picturesque town nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. Once you arrive, proceed to check-in at your hotel and the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. You will spend the night in Shimla and have a delicious dinner provided by the hotel. This charming town gets its name from goddess Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of Kali. It boasts of various tudor bethan and neo-gothic architecture from the colonial era along with numerous temples. With its rugged mountains, stunning snowfall, and pleasant weather, Shimla has become a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your hotel in Shimla.


DAY 2  Shimla to Sarahan (7589 feet / 160 KM / 4-6 hours)

After enjoying breakfast, it will be time to depart from the hotel and head to Sarahan. Upon arrival, you will check-in at your accommodation. The highlight of Sarahan is the stunning Bhima Kali temples, constructed in the traditional Kinnauri style using stone and timber to withstand earthquakes. You will see two towers, one recently reconstructed after the original from the 12th century collapsed, and another built in the 1920s (on the left), which houses a revered shrine to Bhimakali (the local version of Kali) under a beautiful silver-filigree canopy on its top floor. The curved roofs reflect the Tibetan influence on Kinnauri architecture, which becomes more evident as you travel up the valley. Alongside these towers stands the Lankra Vir Temple, where until the 18th century, human sacrifices were performed. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your hotel in Sarahan.


DAY 3 Sarahan to Sangla (8900 feet / 90 KM / 3-4 hours)

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Take a scenic drive through Sangla Valley, known for its unique district half horse half men, and make a stop at Batseri Village. You'll cross an old-fashioned bridge over the Baspa River to reach the village, with its charming cobble-stoned streets and the ancient Badri Narayan temple. Next, continue on to Kamru Fort - a five-story tower constructed by Dev Puran and situated on a 55-square-foot stone stage. Admire the intricately designed wooden porches and small temple as you explore this fascinating area. End your day with a delicious dinner and comfortable overnight stay at a hotel in Sangla.


DAY 4 Sangla to Chitkul (11,320 feet / 22 KM / 1-2 hours)

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Take a scenic drive through Sangla Valley, known for its unique district half horse half men, and make a stop at Batseri Village. DAY 5. Chitkul to Nako (12,000 feet / 140 KM / 7-8 hours)

After enjoying breakfast, we will depart from the hotel and travel to Nako via the Hindustan-Tibet Highway. Along the way, take in the transformation of the scenery from vibrant green to a barren brown as we navigate through one of the most perilous yet stunning roads in the world. As we continue our journey, we will pass by Pooh village, which is home to the last fuel station before reaching our final destination in Kinnaur - Nako. Our dinner and overnight accommodations will be at a guest house in Nako.


DAY 6  Nako to Kee (13,700 feet / 111 KM / 4-5 hours)

After having breakfast, you can check-out from the hotel and be driven to Key, located approximately 5 kilometers away from Kaza. Upon reaching Key, you can check-in at your guest house. The journey from Nako to Key offers breathtaking views along a rocky terrain, punctuated occasionally by large vehicles trying to improve the condition of the road. As you pass through Tabo, the narrow roads gradually give way to expansive spaces, with the scenic beauty intensifying until you reach Kunzum Pass. For dinner and overnight stay, you will be staying at the guest house in Key.


DAY 7 Kee to Losar (13,500 feet / 81 KM / 4-5 hours)

Following breakfast, proceed to check-out from the hotel and be driven to Losar. Once you arrive in Losar, proceed with checking-in at your designated guest house.

The town, once a small hamlet, revealed itself to be a peaceful oasis. Its residents, serene surroundings, and untamed wilderness make it an ideal location for anyone seeking to retire and establish roots. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the cold desert, as well as the numerous natural wonders that surround it. A comfortable hotel awaits for accommodations, followed by a delectable feast.

DAY 8  Losar to Chandratal (14,000 feet / 38 KM / 2-3 hours)

Following breakfast, depart from the hotel and travel by car to Chandratal, passing through Kunzum Pass, a serene spot known for its view of the Chandratal lake. Upon reaching Chandratal, proceed to check-in at your campsite.

Under the moonlight, behold the lake as it displays a mesmerizing array of colors. Immerse yourself in its tranquil embrace and capture its hauntingly beautiful essence in both your cameras and your memories.Enjoy both dinner and an overnight stay at a charming camp located in Chandratal.


DAY 9 Chandratal to Manali (6,800 feet / 120 KM / 9-10 hours)

Following breakfast, guests will proceed with the check-out process at the hotel and be transported to Manali. The drive will offer breathtaking views of the lake, transitioning from vibrant green to mesmerizing shades of reddish orange. During the journey towards Manali, you will also have the opportunity to witness the magnificent Rohtang Pass.
